BIWEEKLY SUBMITTED POEMS
Paths
There is a path somewhere trodden by years of feet passing.
Hidden just beyond thoughts and prayer.
Where the homes have been built to be destroyed
And the wind chimes tell you children's stories.
You can see the posts that point
the dreams caught in spiderwebs
The mailboxes left unread…
But the ground turns to soil as the sky opens wide.
The mailbox falls open when the spiderwebs die.
The letters sit waiting like dreams you can come back to
Night after night.
Fluorescent Sunlight
Keyholes are loud when you’re locked from inside.
Fluorescent tubes are my sunshine.
Papers laugh watching me.
My hands burn holes in them as
the children who wrote them cry.
Five Stages
Weld broken keys with tension —
And let death step through the door.
Graduating guillotines
Shake hands for diplomas-
Severing whatever's left
That left us to dream.
Terror is sure to come now…
Moses cannot split the Red Sea.
Spiders on my wall multiply
I go to sleep to be free.
