Are you getting drunk off information?
The chase for greatness is nothing new.
Humans have a fundamental knack for wanting to exceed in whatever endeavor they are going after. Become the best guitar player, be the greatest nurse in your care unit, or to have the best car on the block…Whether you achieve this or not is determined by a mixture of your discipline and intelligence. You cannot become anyone if you are not disciplined enough to fully pursue, and likewise you cannot become anyone if you don’t adapt and use discernment to overcome the inevitable challenges. But a special thing can happen when intelligence and disciple converge. When someone can achieve this, they will tirelessly use their discipline to find and hone their craft while simultaneously adapting to the challenges and using information as a tool, and not a way to falsely trick themselves to think they are progressing. That is the catalyst for greatness.I say the search for greatness is nothing new, because our current day and age is so polluted by information that we are becoming drunk and fat off of it. Never processing the endless stream quick enough to digest what we are taught. The endless stream can quickly convince the undisciplined dumb mind that it needs to become great at everything and the only thing stopping themselves is that brain from achieving that is the puny human body .Let me tell you, that is wrong.
When you feel the pull of greatness in a certain task whether it be cooking, painting, running, you must slow the stream of information down from outside sources and take on the task with discipline “The beginner adds, the master subtracts.”What will get you closer to your goal?Researching for 4 hours, Or using your discipline and what you already know to do and create a piece in that 4 hours?
The answer is physical action 9 times out of 10. Or you can become fat and drunk off of the endless information stream.I’ve thought I wanted things and went every step of the way to that goal except open the door because I realized in that journey what I was seeking without even needing to open the door.We sometimes figure out what we want before we even achieve it, saving us time and stress.
And that is the exact outcome of discipline and intelligence. It is not a thing that ends it is a thing that should be constantly applied to scenarios. Twiddling down the pool of your desires until you finally find your crown jewel, almost by hunting. You don’t need to finish the hunt to figure out your needs, you can realize as you draw your bow back, that you like the liveliness of the game more than the kill.
Mission
I write a lot... And a lot of it may or may not be a polished. But who gives a fuck?
Writing should be about spilling as much blood with your ink or keyboard as possible. Some wounds may be bigger than others (referring to big impressive pieces vs small unimpressive pieces) but it doesn't make any of them unimportant, they all hold value and teach us something! But I do sometimes read my journals and come across something I wrote like "In other news... the galactic republic is in outrage! the currency the earthlings sold them "Starbucks" just turned out to be coffee!" So take this entire page with a grain of salt...Oh yea the mission. Give people things to think about. Life is very deep, and I've dedicated my life to becoming the best version of myself. in doing this I feel I may provide some interesting perspective on topics, or maybe I wont.
